New Experiences

I went to my first book club meeting tonight. It was such a treat to be in the presence of 12 other women who were passionate about reading. Next month's reading assignment  is Major Pettigrew's Last Stand. Funny how words change over time or maybe its just me. When I was in high school most of the time the thought of a reading assignment would freak me out. That's because those assignments meant essays and oral reports. Now reading assignments mean passionate discussions and snack food. What a difference 30 years makes

On another note I've signed up for an online creative writing course that starts in a couple of weeks. I took this same course about 3 1/2 years ago and got a lot out of it, however I never pursued the next step. I'm in a different place in my life now and I'm going to give it the time it deserves.
